Wang Jian, Ph.D./Professor.(Head, Department of Reproductive Medicine & Biotechnology, SIPPR; Deputy Director, SIPPR; Deputy Director, NPFPC Key Laboratory of Contraceptive Drugs and Devices; Supervisor of PhD candidate, major in Pharmacology, Fudan University, Shanghai.)
After receiving his bachelor degree in biochemistry from East China University of Science & Technology in 1991, Shanghai, China, Dr Wang joined the Department of Reproductive Medicine & Biotechnology, SIPPR, and has embarked on research of reproductive regulation. Supported by a research training grant of WHO, Dr Wang had been worked in the Lab of Uterine Biology as a Visiting Research Officer under the supervision of Professor Lois Salamonsen and Dr Guiying Nie during 1996 ~ 1997. Then, he respectively got the master degree in immunology in 2001 and PhD degree in genetics in 2006 from Fudan University, Shagnhai, China. Dr Wang has focused his research interests in investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying the embryo implantation and female infertility related diseases, as well as the development of novel contraceptives. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications, and applied for 19 patents. Dr Wang has also serviced to the scientific communities as: Vice President, Association of Reproductive Biology, China Zoological Society; Vice President, Youth Committee, Association of Family Planning, Chinese Medical Society;Member, China Healthy Birth Science Association; Member, Academic Committee, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Andrology; Member, Academic Committee, Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Improving Birth Outcome Technique.
