Zheng Huajun, Male, born in October 1976, a Doctor/Researcher, the director of the department of reproductive biology, a master supervisor of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program in School of Basic Medical Sciences, Fudan University, and a member of the China Democratic League. He acquired his Bachelor's Degree of Science and the Master of Science Degree in Microbiology of Shandong University in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and graduated from Fudan University as a PhD in Microbiology in 2010. From August 2011 to September 2013, he has been occupied in post-doctoral researches in School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Chinese National Human Genome Center at Shanghai. He was awarded with Shanghai Rising-Star Program in 2011, winning the Meiji Life Science Award in 2012 and the Development Fund for Shanghai Talents in 2015.
From August 2011 to December 2013, he worked in Chinese National Human Genome Center at Shanghai mainly responsible for high-throughput sequencing services and data analysis. Successively, he participates in the Chimpanzee chromosome 22 sequencing project, Rice chromosome 4 sequencing project, the Schistosoma japonicum genome project and SARS virus sequencing, etc. Genome and transcriptome researches on Echinococcus granulosus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus 2038 and Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra ATCC25177, etc., have been also accomplished under his leadership.
In January 2014, he came into the Shanghai Institute of Planned Parenthood Research (SIPPR) taking the post of deputy chief of the Food for Special Medical Purpose Research Group. As the person in charge of scientific funds, he undertakes 8 National and Shanghai municipal projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and sub-topics of National Science and Technology Major Project. Regarding the number of SCI papers published by him as the first or the corresponding author in Nature and Nature Genetics, etc., it is over 40. In addition, he has been also invited to participate in writing three monographs about microbial genomics, and is authorized one invention patent.
Main research directions:
1. Autism intervention and the relationship study between gut microbiota and autism: analyzing the structural characteristics of the gut microbiota of ASD pateins, and conduct research on intervention methods with specific bacterial species as targets.
2. Research on the pathogenesis of autism: studying the intrauterine environment during pregnancy, determining the key genetic and environmental factors that affect the occurrence of autism, and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and early intervention of ASD during pregnancy.
