Li Weihua, Professor, Principal Investigator (PI) in Shanghai Institute of Planned Parenthood Research (SIPPR), PI in Reproductive and Developmental Research Institute of Fudan University, and Supervisor for Ph.D. Candidates in School of Pharmacy of Fudan University. She is mainly engaged in research of Reproductive Toxicology, Environmental Toxicology and New Fertility Regulation Drug R&D. She subsequently acquired the Bachelor's degree in Medicine from Shanghai Medical University, the Master's Degree in Reproductive Toxicology from Medical School of Fudan University, the Doctor's Degree in Toxicology from Fudan University and the Dissertation Doctor's Degree in Environmental and Industrial Medicine from Nagoya University, Japan. She once studied in Berlin Free University in Germany and Nagoya University in Japan.
She is a committee member of Chinese Environmental Mutagen Society (CEMS), a committee member of Section of Toxicology in Shanghai Preventive Medicine Association, a committee member of Shanghai Environmental Mutagen Society, and the Associate Editor of Environmental Health Perspectives (Chinese Edition of an US NIEHS academic journal). She was honorarily awarded the following titles including Woman Pace-setter of Shanghai, Sci-tech Morningstar of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Pujiang Talent of Shanghai, 6th Young Science and Technology Talent of Shanghai.
In recent years, she has undertaken the sub-projects (Development of Novel Vaginal Contraceptive Drugs and Dosage-form) of Chinese National “11th Five Year Plan”, “12th Five Year Plan” and “13th Five Year Plan” Science and Technology Support Programs, the sub-projects (Study on Drug Carrier and Dosage-form of Microbicide) of Chinese National Infectious Diseases Major Programs, the project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key projects of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the project of Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology, the project of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, the international collaboration project with the Medical School of Charite University (Germany) and the international collaboration project with Japan Meiji Corporation. So far, more than 30 research projects have been conducted, and a dozen of them have been recognized as Shanghai science and technology achievements. She has published more than 60 Chinese and English papers, and has been granted more than 10 Chinese patents.
